Muddy Mt Tam

Hello Sunshine and 2011! The sun finally arrived in Marin County and made for a beautiful day for mountain biking. The trailhead at Phoenix Lake (at Natalie Coffin Greene Park in Ross) re-opened a few months ago, and the regrading and torrential rains have made the trail back to Eldridge and Shaver Grades a veritable mud bath ... At least it's good for your skin (and even better, you need only run a mile or two out of Ross and you can return looking like you've finished an Epic ride).

Shaver as always is completely muddy and Eldridge while muddy in spots is draining well. If you haven't been out in awhile, this is the week. The mud certainly won't disappear but the views make all of the mud well worth it ... Plus it's great cross training for skiing and boarding, so get out there and ride!
